About the association
The Indian Acupuncture Practitioners Association is an independent body of single-needle acupuncturists. It operates on its own, without affiliation to any party, trust or commercial interest.
Our objectives
To promote the general welfare of society, guided by principles that reject any form of caste, religious or political discrimination.
To educate and empower individuals to achieve disease-free health through the promotion of acupuncture.
To disseminate information about the effectiveness of acupuncture, especially for chronic disease, and bring it to the masses.
To empower communities against exploitation in the health sector by teaching the body’s self-defence and self-healing.
To advance the field by educating practitioners about new discoveries in treatment.
To organise acupuncture treatment camps that make care accessible, and to take a firm stand against drug abuse and against misinformation about acupuncture.
How the association works
Membership is screened by the board. Members practise under the association’s common banner, keep records of the patients they see, and take consent before any clinical data is used to improve the method.
Executive committee members meet through the year, and edu-meets bring practitioners together across districts. Notices and decisions reach members directly.

Our reach
Since our founding in 2015, IAPA has grown into a chapter-based network across Kerala, with local chapters established in Kottayam, Malappuram, Tirur, Kannur, Kuttippuram, Alappuzha, Kochi, Ernakulam, and Tanur. Several chapter inaugurations have been supported by local elected representatives.
